| In 1995, aeronautical engineers Vladimir Yavorsky and Alexey Rakov decided to use their technical skills, developed in the Soviet aerospace industry and love of gliding to design of paragliders. Their experience in the aerospace industry gave them a deep understanding of aerodynamic theory and wing design. Over the past twelve years, they have used their knowledge to create a range of paragliders for a variety of users from novice students to expert competitors. Vladimir Yavorsky and test pilot Nikolai Solomko along with other pilots, flying Sky Country wings, took a lot of first places in Ukrainian and International paragliding competitions.
Since its inception 1995, Sky Country's first rule of design has been NEVER GAIN PERFORMANCE BY SACRIFICING SAFETY. Each model is carefully designed to get the maximum performance with the maximum safety for its class. Before going into production the prototypes are thoroughly tested for performance and safety. We offer a full range of paragliders reflecting needs of a broad spectrum of our customers: MuSCat-2, DiSCovery-2, DiSCovery-3, SCorpion-2, MyStiC, D3-Bi.
In 2000 we started to produce several models of ram air traction kites. Our kites distinguished themselves at the World Snowsailing Championship in Estonia in 2003. Our current line of kites are Reflex and Alasca for land kiting and new closed cell kite for land and water use, the Wave.
Until recently our paragliders and kites have only been available in Eastern Europe. Now we have dealers in Western Europe, North America and in the Middle East. Our products have received rave reviews from North America and done very well in North American competitions. Our North American Distributor, Denis Roumiantsev, recently completed the first paraglider flight from Pemberton to Harrison Mills, British Columbia (a distance 130 km as the crow flies through rugged mountain valleys).
Sky Country is in constant development. We are always looking further for more fun, more performance and more safety.
